Dozens Arrested In Massive Georgia Gang Sweep During “Operation Red Recoil”

Authorities in Georgia say a large scale gang enforcement operation has led to dozens of arrests after investigators targeted violent street gang activity connected to shootings, drug crimes, and illegal weapons throughout the Augusta area.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation was part of a coordinated crackdown called “Operation Red Recoil,” a multi agency initiative focused on dismantling violent criminal networks operating in the region.

Sheriff’s officials announced that the operation resulted in dozens of arrests tied to alleged gang members and associates. Investigators say many of those taken into custody were connected to ongoing violent crime investigations, including shootings and illegal firearm activity.

Law enforcement agencies involved in the operation included local deputies, federal agents, and gang investigators who spent months gathering intelligence before carrying out the coordinated raids and arrests.

Authorities say search warrants were executed across multiple locations throughout Richmond County as investigators seized firearms, drugs, and other evidence tied to gang activity.
